Short Films

This series of short films about women imprisoned for drug offenses in Mexico documents the human cost of current drug policies and the specific conditions by which these laws disproportionately impact women and their families.

Photo Essays

Across Latin America, the effects of disproportionate punishment for low-level, non-violent drug offenses are particularly severe for women. To shed light on this issue, WOLA has created a series of photo essays to show the human cost of current drug policies in the Americas.

Campaigns

Alongside the International Drug Policy Consortium and the Women and Harm Reduction International Network, WOLA has launched the campaign Inside Out Women’s Prisons: Resisting Punitive Drug Policies to highlight the impact of women’s deprivation of liberty as a result of punitive drug policies in the United States, Mexico, Spain and Indonesia.
